Gina Crash Caught Up With GBUL’s Executive Operations Manager Tershea Ewell
This week on Spotlight On Maryland, Gina Crash caught up with Tershea “Shea” Ewell, Executive Operations Manager with the Greater Baltimore Urban League, (GBUL), about GBUL’s upcoming award from AFRO News for their decades-long work in the community, their new Workforce Development Director, the upcoming Saturday Leadership Program Graduation and their partnership with Pepsi’s Black Restaurant Accelerator Program, (BRAP).
On Juneteenth, AFRO News will present the Greater Baltimore Urban League with an award at their “We’ve Come This Far By Faith” Brunch from 9am-Noon for GBUL’s decades-long work in serving our communities. GBUL’s President & CEO Tiffany Majors will accept the award.
Shea also talked about the upcoming Graduation June 24th for graduates of their Saturday Leadership Program, which is one of GBUL’s youth programs. That weekend GBUL will also be at Giant’s Barbecue Battle in DC June 24th and 25th. GBUL has a longstanding partnership with Giant supporting their work in the community.
The Greater Baltimore Urban League is the local affiliate of the National Urban League and are in the 3rd year of a 5-year program sponsored by the PepsiCo Foundation and the National Urban Urban League called the Black Restaurant Accelerator Program, (BRAP). The program provides $10,000 grants to black-owned businesses that complete the 8-week webinar series. So far 24 local businesses have participated in the program and GBUL will celebrate them all September 12th with a block party. More details to follow on that event.
