Entrepreneurship

The Greater Baltimore Urban League (GBUL) was founded “to enable African Americans to secure economic self-reliance, partiy, power, and civil rights.” In keeping with its mission, GBUL launched the Raymond V. Haysbert, Sr. Center for Entrepreneurship in June of 2016. The Haysbert Center is named for the late Raymond V. Haysbert, Sr., a former chairman of the Greater Baltimore Urban League and famed African American business and civil leader from Baltimore that took the Parks Sausage Company to the New York Stock Exhcnage. He founded and profitably operated numerous enterprises throughout the region well into his 80’s. His philosophy for personal initiative combined with collective effort is well known throughout the community in Baltimore and was widely promoted among the city’s civic, business and political leadership.

The Haysbert Center brings high caliber business coaching and support services to the community level by providing workshops, customized training and development, resources, special events, business summits, seminar series, and one-on-one business coaching.
